The joke has three parts, and every Malfoid drawing hits at least two of them. She is Draco, but a girl: same platinum hair, same green tie, same rich-kid sneer. She mocks Harry, usually with a line that sounds like the films, “Potter” stretched out into “Pottah”. Then she blushes. That last beat turns a school bully into a rival with a crush, and fans have been shipping Harry and Draco for twenty years, so the setup was already familiar. It also follows a pattern the internet has seen before. In 2018 Bowsette, a female Bowser, took over the same way: one popular drawing, then thousands of artists redrawing it within a week. Malfoid is the 2026 version, and the comparison was made almost immediately. It now has well over 100,000 likes. On September 27 a love-triangle drawing with Hermione followed, and on September 29 a three-pose sheet by @masoq095 passed 100,000 likes and Malfoid hit X's trending list. By October 1 the first fan dating sim was out. The [full Malfoid timeline](/origin.md) has every step with its source. ## Who is Malfoid in the fan art? Artists change a lot, but a few things stay fixed: long blonde hair, hoop earrings, the Slytherin tie and an expression that is either a smirk or a pout. We counted the twenty most-liked drawings: all twenty have the long blonde hair, seventeen show the green tie, and half of them put Harry in the frame so she has someone to insult. Her name is not settled either. Some fans call her Draconia, some Dracona, and the fan games picked their own. The [Malfoid character profile](/who-is-malfoid.md) covers all of it. ## Where to go next If you only want the pictures, the [Malfoid fan art gallery](/fan-art.md) keeps every major post in one place, ranked by likes and credited to the artist, with a line on what each drawing is doing. If the name is what confused you, [what Malfoid means](/meaning.md) breaks it down word by word, and [the Malfoid controversy](/controversy.md) covers the part that got an artist harassed off Bluesky. Two groups of fans went looking for more than art. The first wanted to play, and two free Malfoid visual novels, Pureblood & Prejudice and Draconia, appeared on itch.io within ten days. Both are free and run in a phone browser. The second wanted stories, and [Malfoid fanfiction](/fanfiction.md) lists where to find them on AO3, Wattpad and FanFiction.net, general and teen ratings only. AO3 alone has about 650 works under the tag Female Draco Malfoy, and its tag wranglers folded the Malfoid tag into that one, so searching either word lands on the same list. If you came here from a Draco search and have never heard of any of this, start with [female Draco Malfoy](/female-draco-malfoy.md). Girl versions of Draco were around for years before anyone called her Malfoid, and that page explains how a long-running fan habit turned into a two-week meme. ## FAQ ### What is Malfoid? Malfoid is the fan nickname for a girl version of Draco Malfoy: platinum hair, Slytherin robes and a habit of mocking Harry. The art went viral on X in late September 2026. ### Is Malfoid canon? No. Malfoid only exists in fan art, comics and fan games. J.K. Rowling's books and the films only have Draco. ### Why is she called Malfoid? The name joins Malfoy with “foid”, incel slang for women. Many fans prefer “fem Draco” because of that. ### Who drew the first Malfoid? Girl versions of Draco go back to at least 2011. The Malfoid wave started with @redteneri's drawing on September 22, 2026. ### Why is Malfoid trending? A rival who insults Harry and then blushes is an easy joke to redraw, and hundreds of artists did, one after another, in under two weeks. ### Is there a Malfoid game? Yes. Pureblood & Prejudice and Draconia are free fan visual novels that run in a phone or desktop browser. ## Sources 1.
