## Facts
- Malfoid is fan-made. She is not in the Harry Potter books, films or plays, and the HBO series cast a boy, Lox Pratt, as Draco (https://malfoid.wiki/female-draco-malfoy).
- The name joins "Malfoy" with "foid", short for "femoid", an incel insult for women first seen on r/Incels in April 2017; most posters use it as a pun, and many fans say "fem Draco" instead (https://malfoid.wiki/meaning).
- The first known use of the word "Malfoid" is a text-only X post by @swag_chaser on January 10, 2026 (https://malfoid.wiki/meaning).
- The trend started with a drawing by @redteneri on September 22, 2026 at 14:03 UTC, 171K likes as of 2026-10-09 (https://malfoid.wiki/origin).
- Girl versions of Draco existed long before: a Tumblr drawing from November 9, 2011, and @grizz056's "If malfoy was a girl" from March 10, 2024 (https://malfoid.wiki/female-draco-malfoy).
- X ran trending topics about Malfoid on September 29 and October 5, 2026 (https://malfoid.wiki/origin).
- The controversy is about the name and about Harry Potter itself: artist Yunayu apologized, removed her drawing and deleted her Bluesky account in early October 2026, then posted on X. J.K. Rowling had made no public statement about Malfoid as of October 8, 2026 (https://malfoid.wiki/controversy).
- Fans most often call her Draconia (also Dracona); she is drawn as a tsundere Slytherin heiress with long platinum hair who insults Harry and then blushes (https://malfoid.wiki/who-is-malfoid).
- The fan art page shows the 28 most-shared posts by 20 artists, each credited and linked to the original post, ranked by live likes that refresh daily (https://malfoid.wiki/fan-art).
- On AO3, the Malfoid tag is merged into "Female Draco Malfoy", which held 652 works on October 9, 2026 (141 rated General, 179 Teen); Wattpad's "malfoid" tag had 36 stories; the site lists 12 picks rated General or Teen (https://malfoid.wiki/fanfiction).
- Two free fan visual novels exist on itch.io: Pureblood & Prejudice by COCOLEMON (October 1, 2026) and Draconia by avrana (October 2, 2026). Both run in a browser.
- In Japan the trend is called 女体化マルフォイ or マルフォイド; pixiv's "Malfoid" tag passed 7.8 million views by October 9, 2026, and a Japanese girl-Malfoy comic series on pixiv predates the trend (https://malfoid.wiki/ja).
