What happens in the robe shop comic?

Part one is the meeting. Young Harry, in a plaid shirt and scuffed sneakers, holds open a robe that drowns him and thinks “It’s huge…” Across the shop a girl with long pale hair and Mary Jane shoes is pulling something off the shelves. She turns and smiles, and Harry’s thought bubble says it plainly: “She’s really pretty…”

She does all the talking. “Hi! Are you going to Hogwarts too?” Then brooms (she flies all the time, and since first years can’t have their own she will sneak one in anyway), then Quidditch, then houses. Harry, who found out he was a wizard the day before, manages “Er… I’m not really sure yet.”

Part two is the turn. She is going to Slytherin because her whole family was, and if she ends up somewhere like Hufflepuff she will bite her tongue off. Harry decides she means no harm but is making him feel like an idiot. Then Hagrid’s face appears at the window and her eyes narrow: “What’s that…? He looks like a savage.” Harry starts to defend him, she checks a pocket watch and leaves with a cheerful “See you at Hogwarts!”

The last page splits them down the middle. She hums: “I think we could be friends! Maybe I should’ve asked his name?” He clenches a fist: “She’s the worst!!”

How close is it to the book?

Very close. In chapter five of Philosopher’s Stone, Draco talks at Harry in Madam Malkin’s about brooms, Quidditch and Slytherin, says he would leave if he got Hufflepuff, then spots Hagrid at the window and calls him a sort of savage. Sachi_Hwa keeps nearly all of it. The change is the girl’s mood: the book’s Draco is bored and superior, and this one is excited to have met someone.

Two small touches stand out. “Don’t go mixing with the wrong sort!” is borrowed from the Hogwarts Express in the next chapter, where Draco warns Harry about the wrong sort and gets turned down. And in the book Draco does ask Harry’s surname, but Madam Malkin finishes his fitting before Harry answers. Here she simply forgets to ask, and walks off sure they will be friends.

Where does it sit among Malfoid comics?

Sachi_Hwa’s caption frames it as a fix to canon: “This was probably their actual first meeting..” Part one went up on October 2, 2026 and part two fourteen seconds later. As of October 10 part one has nearly 59,000 likes and part two about 18,000. It is one of the multi-part series on our Malfoid comics page and the opening scene on the Harry x Malfoid timeline. Sachi_Hwa went on to redo other scenes from the books, and those posts are further down this page.

Sachi_Hwa's flying-lesson manga from October 8. Harry is a natural on a broom, she can't stand it, sneaks out at night with Filch's broom to practise, and McGonagall catches her. Minus ten points to Slytherin.

Maybe she was jealous of his talent...😒 #malfoid #malfoy

Q: 'What sort of person do you despise most?' Malfoid describes messy black hair, round glasses and green eyes in suspicious detail. By page four the Daily Prophet runs 'Miss Malfoy's ideal man?'
